Carrie, Keith, and Garth’s ‘Cry Pretty’ Moments From CMA Awards

The 52nd Annual CMA Awards were filled with joyful tears tonight.

Garth Brooks made good on his promise that he and/or Trisha Yearwood were going to break down during his first-time performance of his new song, "Stronger Than Me."

Carrie Underwood reclaimed her throne from Miranda Lambert as reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for the 5th time, and the modern Queen of Country Music tearfully thanked her family and fans after accepting the award saying, “This means so much. Thank you.”

Another unexpected but pleasant surprise came when Keith Urban won his first Entertainer of the Year award since his first in 2005.

Shock was written all over Keith’s face when his name was announced, and after a long embrace with his wife Nicole Kidman, he took the stage to confirm he was “shocked beyond shocked.”

The “Coming Home” singer then tearfully added, “I wish my dad was alive to see this, but I think he’s watching over me tonight.”

The 2018 CMA Awards speeches and performances contain enough tears to last a lifetime.
