The Best Movies Turning 30, 20 and 10-Years-Old in 2022 with Movie Mike

It’s hard to believe some of these movies have been out this long. So I wanted to take a look back at movies celebrating a birthday this year. Here are movies turning 30, 20 and 10-years-old. I found the top movies at the box office in 1992, 2002 and 2012, along with some other great movies I loved that came out of each year.

Movies That Came Out 1992 and Turning 30-Years-Old

I was born in 1991, so obviously I don’t remember seeing these movies right when they came out. But I remember watching them on VHS tapes or catching them randomly on TV. If you were like me, you spend Saturday afternoons watching movies like 3 Ninjas, The Mighty Ducks, Honey I Blew Up The Kid and Beethoven which all came out in 1992. There were also some major dramas to come out this year like Malcom X, The Bodyguard, American Me, A Few Good Men and Reservoir Dogs. But if I could only take ONE movie with me from 1992…i’d for sure have to take one of my favorite Batman movies…Batman Returns!

Movies That Came Out 2002 and Turning 20-Years-Old

I would have turned 11-years-old in 2002 and what I remember most about watching movies then was the way DVD’s changed the game! You no longer had to rewind, you could pick any scene to jump into and all of the special features and commentary were perfect for a movie nerd like me! Some of my favorite movies that out in 1992 were Catch Me If You Can, Jackass: The Movie, Mr. Deeds, 8 Mile and you also had some great animated movies like Lilo & Stitch and Ice Age. Plus more classics like The Bourne Identity, Sweet Home Alabama and Scooby Doo. 2002 was also big for ‘College’ comedy movies like Orange County, Van Wilder and Stealing Harvard. But if I could only take ONE movie with me from 2002…I would pick Lilo & Stitch which is one of my favorite Disney movies.

Movies That Came Out 2012 and Turning 10-Years-Old

2012 doesn’t feel like it was 10-years-ago so this was a weird list to put together. I was still in college and recently started working at the radio station in Austin, TX after my internship ended on The Bobby Bones Show. Even though I wasn’t an intern anymore…I would fill in as producer when needed. And you would probably catch me on the weekends at the movies or on the couch with a DVD or Blu-Ray I rented from the RedBox. You had two comic book classics released this year with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises! Some of my other favorite movies from 2012 were: Wreck It Ralph, 21 Jump Street, Argo, The Perks of Being A Wallflower and Silver Linings Playbook. If I could only take ONE movie with me from 2012…I’d take the Marvel masterpiece that is The Avengers
