Dierks Bentley Shares “Kind Of Dumb” Goal For 2019

Dierks Bentley self describes his New Year resolution for 2019 as “kind of dumb," but it is actually brilliant!

During an interview with Cody Alan, Dierks shared that 2019 will be the year where he plans to release his strict regimen and focus more on enjoying the moment and perusing happiness.

“This seems like kind of a dumb goal, but I just want to have fun this year,” laughs Dierks. “I have fun every year, but I always try to live really intensely. I constantly have some sort of discipline that I’m challenging myself with. This year, I just want to have a lot of fun.”

Dierks is already warming things up in 2019 with the ‘Burning Man Tour’ which plots 24 arena shows and is supported by longtime pal, Jon Pardi, rising country starlet Tenille Townes, and features The Hot Country Knights, which is Dierks’ ‘90s country cover band.’

“I just want to take the governor off and go a little deeper,” says The Mountain singer.

“Honestly, I can relate with that,” replied Cody. “I think we get caught up so much in the busyness of whatever we are doing that we never stop to find the joy in what we are experiencing.”

Dierks couldn't agree more.

“I read so many books on ‘life optimization,’ you know? And, trying different tricks and different things… intermittent fasting or exercising every morning at 6 am...and it’s just like, eh, I’m going to take some time off and not do any of those things,” smirks Dierks. “I’ve been really happy so far this year, so it’s off to a good start.”
