A man in North Carolina's luck during a recent lottery drawing landed him a $150,000 prize.

Edward Argenta, of Granville County, recently purchased a $3 Power Play ticket at the Creedmore Market on Bruce Garner Road in the hopes of winning a $50,000 prize, WRAL reports. When the day of the Powerball drawing arrived on August 11, he discovered that his ticket matched four of the white balls as well as the red Powerball. The odds of achieving that match are 1 in 913,129, according to lottery officials.

His luck didn't stop there. The 3X multiplier was also drawn, tripling his $50,000 prize to a whopping $150,000. Argenta claimed his prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh, bringing home a grand total of $106,126 after taxes.

Argenta isn't the only North Carolina resident who was shocked by their recent lottery win. Two men on opposite sides of the state both hit the jackpot in a Cash 5 game, splitting the prize of more than $200,000.

Another man in Winston-Salem won the lottery twice, using the $50 he scored from his first prize to purchase another winning ticket that earned him an even bigger win of $200,000. He chose not to try his luck again, instead putting much of the prize toward a more practical use.
