A man in North Carolina has big plans to treat his family after scoring a huge lottery win off a scratch-off ticket.
Adrin Anthony, of Kings Mountain, recently purchased a $10 Million Spectacular lottery ticket from the Southern Store 1010 on East Church Street in Cherryville, according to a release from the NC Education Lottery, recalling that he "just stopped in to buy a drink" at first.
Fortunately for him, he also picked up the scratch-off ticket, a move that landed him one of the game's $100,000 prizes. Anthony told lottery officials that he has had a feeling he would win a big prize someday, a dream he shared often with his wife.
"I've been telling her for years I was going to win," he said.
Anthony claimed his prize at lottery headquarters on Thursday (April 18), taking home an impressive $71,514 after all required state and federal tax withholdings. According to lottery officials, he has big plans for his winnings: a trip to Disney and potentially buying a car for his son.
"We are planning to take our kids to Disney World," he said. "We can use this win to help pay for that."
According to the lottery website, the $10 Million Spectacular game has 12 $100,000 prizes, 15 $1 million prizes and four $10 million prizes that remain to be claimed.
