The Oak Ridge Boys honored late bandmate Joe Bonsall in a new music video that spotlighted the late tenor’s “unforgettable” performance.

The group debuted their video for “Promised Land,” penned by country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe with PEOPLE on Thursday (July 25). The song appears on the group’s Front Porch Singin’ album that released in 2021. Oak Ridge Boys member Richard Sterban, 81, told the news outlet that the song “is a great example of Joe Bonsall's ability to capture the message of a great song and communicate that message to the listener. His performance is unforgettable.” William Lee Golden, 85, added that ‘Promised Land’ is another Joe Bonsall-treasured masterpiece."

Bonsall died after complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis on the morning of Tuesday, July 9. He was 76. The country music community — including fellow country stars Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Eddie Montgomery and others — mourned his loss in heartfelt tributes. Bonsall is survived by his wife of more than four decades, Mary Ann, daughters Jennifer and Sabrina, granddaughter Breanne, grandson Luke, great grandsons Chance and Grey, and sister Nancy, per a statement issued at that time, adding that the family requests privacy.
