Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson reacted to news of the death of his Good Burger co-star Jan Schwieterman being made public on Friday (March 21).

"Very sad!!! Sending love to his family!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾," Thompson wrote, along with a screengrab of a report on Schweiterman's death.

Schwieterman, 52, a native of Indiana, is best known for his role as Kurt Bozwell, the owner of the rival fast-food restaurant Mondo Burger and arch villain opposite Good Burger employees Dexter, played by Thompson, and Ed, played by Kel Mitchell. The film stemmed from a popular recurring skit on the popular Nickelodeon kids sketch comedy show All That, which Thompson and Mitchell had been featured on prior to their series Kenan & Kel.

Schwiterman died at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, on February 28, according to the obituary. The actor's brother, Chad, also confirmed his death in a Facebook post.

"It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman," Chad Schwieterman wrote, tagging several other relatives shown in a series of photos with the late actor. "He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time.

"Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you."

Schwiterman didn't appear in the sequel Good Burger 2 when it hit theaters in 2023. The actor was also credited for roles on Felicity, McKenna, ER and Forever.
