The PBR Team Series will roll into Winston-Salem, NC this weekend - September 9-11 - with a whole weekend of Professional Bull Riding action for COWBOY DAYS! Meet NASCAR greats, Free country concerts from Cody Webb and Elvie Shane, Food Trucks, a Car Show and you can even attend Cowboy Church on Sunday!
It's also North Carolina's first chance to see OUR home team, The Carolina Cowboys in their Inagural homestand at the Lawerence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
North Carolina native Richard Childress (Yes THAT Richard Childress, the NASCAR Hall of Famer) not only helped with the vision of the PBR team series but he also founded the Carolina Cowboys - North Carolina's PBR Team. General Manager Austin Dillon (Yes, the one that drives the #3 RCR Chevy) and head coach Jerome Davis (Yes, The ORIGINAL "Carolina Cowboy", World Champion and PBR co-Founder) have been tapped to lead the Carolina Cowboys to win the Golden Buckle in Las Vegas this November.
In my recent podcast with Richard Childress, he explains "there are a lot of similtarites between Bull riding and Racing" so it seemed like a natural fit for team RCR to branch into Team Bull Riding.
PBR Team Series works a lot like other sports as well. There are 8 teams in the league. They compete in GAMES for points. They have a draft and trade players.
Currently the Carolina Cowboys are in thrid place in the standings and are hoping to make up some ground this weekend at home!
